The
idyllic, though infrequently visited, site of Aphrodisias, is famous for its
cult to Aphrodite and the only intact Roman stadium in Turkey, seating 30,000
persons. This is one of Turkey’s largest and most impressive archaeological
digs. Aphrodisias was an educational center, and it’s remains include
temples, baths, theater, churches, streets, marble statues and public squares.
