The sanctuary of Delphi is magnificently situated above a deep gorge, against the backdrop of Mt. Parnassos. In antiquity it attracted pilgrims who came to consult the oracle. Today it rema›ns one of Greece’s most impressive ancient sites. The complex of buildings, including the Temple of Apollo, are nestled in the forested slopes and rocky crags on the south side of the sacred mountain.
