This former Ottoman Turkish and Greek fishing village is charming and unspoiled.  Kalkan is famous for its ancient history, historic architecture, forested mountains, colorful bougainvilleas, and sparkling sea. The harbor is sheltered by the towering Taurus Mountains and since antiquity has provided the only safe port between Kas and Fethiye during rough weather.
